🗳️ BREAKING: Democrats sue Trump over voter rolls
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and fellow Democrats filed a 44-page lawsuit Tuesday in D.C. federal court against President Trump, the DOJ and senior officials — accusing the administration of pressuring states to purge voter rolls using "shoddily compiled" noncitizen lists.
The complaint's key example: in Nevada, DHS first claimed 16,000 noncitizens were registered to vote — then narrowed it to 185, and Nevada officials say all 185 appear to be citizens. The suit asks a federal judge to block threats against states that refuse to remove registered voters. Chief Judge James Boasberg is assigned to the case.
The White House pushed back, saying it is "taking decisive lawful action to protect our elections."
Context: this comes 12 days before the Nov 3 midterms — days after the DOJ sued California election officials (Oct 15) and announced "Operation Protect the Vote" charges against 28 people in California.
