🏛️ GOP LAWMAN WANTS FEDERAL PROBE INTO H-1B FRAUD IN ATLANTA!

Oct 8, 2026 — Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Georgia) has asked the Trump administration to investigate suspected H-1B visa fraud in North Metro Atlanta, calling his own district a "suspected hotspot."

📨 The letter: sent to VP JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling, and DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. McCormick asked federal agencies to devote "considerable effort and resources" to fraud allegations in and around Georgia's 7th Congressional District.

⚠️ The allegations: some employers use fraudulent or abusive practices to obtain below-market-wage workers — and exploit the workers' dependence on continued employment to keep their immigration status, exposing them to exploitation and abusive working conditions.

💬 His words: "This fraud hurts American workers and American wages, erodes the public's trust in our immigration laws, and insults legal immigrants who come to our country the right way."

🤝 He also offered to work with the administration on legislation to strengthen enforcement and help coordinate with Georgia state agencies and law enforcement. His office says the concerns stem from constituent reports, stakeholder engagement, and recent federal enforcement activity around GA-07.

Context: H-1B lets US employers temporarily hire foreign professionals in specialized occupations; the program has long been particularly important for professionals from India.
